Join us on 1 July 2017 at the Katherine Showgrounds for Katherine Tales - Tall, Twisted and True, the headline act to celebrate Territory Day. Katherine Tales promises to be a hilarious night of vaudeville entertainment, which tells the story of Territory Day through comedy, music and satire. There's no doubt you will see someone you know, although watch carefully as they may be in disguise! The Territory Day celebration is brought to you by the Northern Territory Government in association with Godinymayin Yijard Rivers Arts and Culture Centre and the Katherine Town Council.
WOW - Women of the World - Festival was held in Katherine for the third time in September 2016. WOW Festival is a global festival originating at London's Southbank Centre that celebrates the formidable strength and inventiveness of girls and women. Bringing together together Australian women, in particular the Territory community, the Festival opened a dialogue about the unique challenges they face. From living remotely, managing loneliness and surviving in our changing environment to how Australian women can have a voice on local, national and international stages.
Over three days, WOW Katherine featured a range of panels, hands on workshops, mentoring sessions and performances. It inspired insight, energy and laughter, building new networks and communities of strong women.

For the second year running we produced K-town's Dance Massive for Territory Day (1 July) and to celebrate what makes the Territory great!
With the help of Artistic Director Bec Reid, Jess Devereux and Indigenous Hip Hop Projects, local people from all walks of life came together to dance their hearts out, entertaining the 2,000-strong crowd gathered at the Katherine Showgrounds before the Territory Day fireworks display. Starting with a traditional Jawoyn welcome, the crowd was entertained by Katherine's youngest ballerinas, ballroom dancing, Zumba, hip hop, the Ktown Koogaz, Rockhole and Minyerri communities and Katherine YMCA's Kickback Krew to name a few, culminating in an "all-in" dance finale!
